Home Preservation Course (On Zoom)

Our Home Preservation Course is a practical, hands-on class designed to help people residing in properties owned by the Land Bank buy and preserve them. The goal is to promote homeownership while showing residents how to protect, maintain, and sustain their property for the long term. Required by the Detroit Land Bank Authority, this course equips participants with essential knowledge on home maintenance, safety, budgeting for repairs, understanding property taxes, and navigating city resources. Participants learn how to identify minor issues before they become major repairs and develop a personalized home preservation plan before buying the home from DLBA.
