On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, Foundation For Pops held our inaugural “Take A Walk In My Shoes” giveaway event at Eastern Market. The event, which took place in Shed 3, was a great success in which members of our community in need were able to get themselves new shoes, clothing, personal items, and a hot meal. Volunteers from multiple organizations were present to provide additional services. A special thanks to Wayne State Veterans Upward Bound, Hygiene on Wheels, Wayne Mobile Health Unit, Corktown Health, DQS Solutions & Staffing, and the Department of Veterans Affairs for providing additional resources to those in attendance. During the event, Foundation For Pops was able to distribute hundreds of shoes, and we look forward to giving even more next year. Thank you again to everyone who helped make our first “Take A Walk In My Shoes” a great success!
